Many customers encounter the question, "Why is it so difficult to push a walk-behind floor scrubber, and what are the reasons?" Sometimes it's not a quality issue with the machine itself, but rather a lack of time for maintenance after use, leading to various minor problems.
Walk-behind floor scrubbers are divided into semi-automatic and fully automatic types. If a fully automatic walk-behind floor scrubber is difficult to push, it's likely due to a problem with the drive motor.
Brush Disc: After prolonged use, the brush discs of a walk-behind floor scrubber wear down due to friction with the floor, reducing pressure on the ground and decreasing forward assist, making the machine difficult to push. In this situation, there are two possibilities: one is that the brush bristles are worn and shortened, in which case simply adjusting the brush disc's pressure on the ground is sufficient; the other is that the brush bristles are severely worn, in which case replacing the brush disc is necessary.
Bearings: If the brush disc is fine, we need to check if the floor scrubber's bearings are damaged. To check, lift the brush disc and push the scrubber forward, observing if there is significant resistance. If it cannot be pushed, the wheel bearings need to be replaced. If it can be pushed with slight effort, the bearings are fine.
Casters: If your walk-behind floor scrubber has been used for more than 3 months and this aspect wasn't addressed during routine machine maintenance, check the two large casters at the bottom of the scrubber for blockages or damage. If the casters are damaged or blocked, they need to be replaced.
Loose Screws: The various components of a walk-behind floor scrubber are connected by screws. If these screws become loose, the connection will be weak, increasing pushing resistance. Simply tighten the screws appropriately.
If the problem persists after checking and operating the above four points, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for assistance in determining the specific cause. As the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), they can provide more targeted technical support and solutions based on the product structure and usage scenario.
